Just...WOW!
Saturday, October 30th, 2010
We have just heard from the Southern Appalachian Int'l FF that TRUE NATURE has won Best Horror Feature, and Patrick Steele has won the Best Director award for the entire festival!
We cannot begin to express just how thrilled--and honored--we are. It is another vote for the quality of the film, and Pat's first win as a director. But more importantly, the advocacy of regional filmmaking that SOAPIFF provides is phenomenal, and phenomenally important. Our hats are off to this organization in respect and admiration.
Festivals, Wins & Thank-Yous
October 25th, 2010

Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for this exciting and innovative corner of world cinema.
Reviews...
October 23rd, 2010
Greg Lamberson, filmmaker and head of the Buffalo Screams Horror FF, was kind enough to take a minute out of his ultra-busy schedule Friday to send us some write-ups on TRUE NATURE.
Check 'em out. Very flattering stuff!
And...
http://www.bloodsprayer.com/featured/buffalo-screams-day-1/
Greg also reports that the Thursday evening screening was well-attended with around 40 people there and the film played extremely well on the big screen, keeping him and many others on the edge of their seat. The fun part was, actress Debbie Rochon was in attendance and thought it was excellent. Sweet!
We are truly indebted to Greg, Emil, Debbie and all the folk who took time out of their busy schedules to watch TRUE NATURE!
And another one!

Another win!
October 14th, 2010
It's a long, strange story (likely one without a satisfactory explanation--ask us over a few drinks), but we just found out TRUE NATURE won the On the Edge Award at the Louisville Int'l Film Festival!
The award was custom-made by none other than the Hillerich & Bradsby Company, makers of the famed Louisville Slugger ball bat!
Can't get much cooler than that, and those of you who have seen the film get the irony of this...
We thank the team at the LIFF for the kind nod!
Update on Mile High...
October 13th, 2010
We have learned that TRUE NATURE will be playing the Mile High in Denver, CO on Saturday, Oct. 23rd @ 5:00PM, and both writer/director Patrick Steele and producer/editor Ann Rotolante will be in attendance.
Also, Daniel Myrick (co-maker of BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) is also this year's feature film judge! Cross your fingers he digs the film! : )
If you, or anyone you know, live in the Denver area, by all means come on down (we'd love to have ya') and support this great festival!

Two screenings at Flimmer!
Wednesday, September 15th, 2010
We just checked the program guide for the Flimmer - Norrköping filmfestival and we're (pleasantly) surprised to see that TRUE NATURE will have TWO screenings in Sweden: Sat., Oct 2nd at 8:15pm and Sun., Oct. 10th at 8:15pm!
The festival programmers have found an eclectic mix to satisfy the palettes of the discriminating Swedish filmgoing audience: THIRST, THE RUNAWAYS, CRAZY HEART, THE ROAD...the list goes on. We're definitely traveling in good company.
Here is the link to Flimmer's program:

Tulsa--a personal note
Monday, September 6th, 2010
As we leave this fine city behind--replete with fond memories--we have to give a HUGE public thanks to Joel Hullett, Melanie Sweeney, Bonnie, Evan and the rest of the gang who made the OHFF a very solid reality. We are so honored to have been part of the inaugural lineup and are indebted to Joel for his passion for film in general, and for championing TRUE NATURE in particular. He put together an amazing lineup--THE PROMETHEUS PROJECT, OFF-SEASON, THE TAKEN, THE DEVIL'S TOY, EL MONSTRO DEL MAR, SURVIVORS, to name just a few, and we are so proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with these titles.
Ann and I felt we were amongst peers and it was not only good for our film, but our spirits as well. Thanks for taking a chance on us.
Now go get some sleep!
BIG WIN!
Sunday, September 5th, 2010
The votes have been tallied - and Marianne Porter wins BEST ACTRESS IN A FEATURE at the Oklahoma Horror Film Festival!!!!
Ann and I are so very happy for Marianne--a little professional validation for someone who worked so bloody hard to make her role live onscreen. This win was no small feat; the lineup possessed some phenomenal performances by several very capable talents. She definitely competed against the best of the fest!
This is the second award for TRUE NATURE, the first being BEST THRILLER FEATURE at the 2010 Atlanta Horror FF
The roof is off the house!
Saturday, September 4th, 2010
We have to lay down for a moment to catch our breath...
We blew the roof off the house tonight with the screening of TRUE NATURE at the OHFF.
The evening screening was well-attended, with 60+ eager audience members chompin' at the bit to check it out, and they weren't disappointed. The film went over--HARD, and even though they were primed by Joel Hullett (and us), the honest, uncomfortable rawness of the film caught the audience off-guard. Which is great. In an age where "torture porn" and films you can keep at arm's length rule, it was nice to see you could still put the screws to the viewer by hitting the right emotional or psychological buttons.
People were blown away by the power of the experience, and we got a much needed morale-booster as numerous complete strangers walked up to us and offered up their most sincere compliments.
We did our job, folks, and we can breathe a sigh of relief.
OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA!
August 20, 2010 11:20PM
We're less than two weeks away from the Oklahoma Horror FF, and we're psyched! Why? Well, pull up a chair and lemme tell ya'...
It's going to be a great time, no doubt. They may be a young fest, but the organizers are committed and doing things RIGHT. They also have the sponsorship of Sony, Fearnet and Final Draft! Tes cool! The guests and film lineup are really solid, representing some of the best truly indie horror films around.
TRUE NATURE has NINE nominations a the festival, including best feature. Need we say more? : )
Ann and I are on a couple of panels: Me (Pat) on a screenwriting Q&A and both of us on a fundraising and distribution discussion.
There are two screenings: Saturday, Sept. 4th @ 9:00PM and Sunday the 5th @ 11:00AM.
Sooo, if you or someone you know are in the Tulsa area Labor Day weekend, come on down, support us and the festival and have a great time!

TRUE NATURE wins Best Thriller Feature at the Atlanta Horror Film Fest!
August 17, 2010, 5:18PM
That's right: we kicked off our festival run this past weekend, at the AHFF and picked up a win to boot!
As some of you may be aware, I was sadly unable to attend the fest due to a horrible viral illness, so Ann soldiered on--and stayed at our previously reserved swanky hotel--without me.
She reported that our screening was "a hit", with virtually the entire audience loving the picture. This sentiment seems to be confirmed by the fact that we actually won a significant category our first time out. It's a great feeling having your years of hard work validated by people who don't know--or care--about the hell you went through. All they see is a good film, one they respond to...a sweet, sweet thing indeed.
We are both thankful to the Atlanta programming committee for selecting TN as part of their lineup and for the fine award. Ann had a wonderful time, saw some cool stuff and met a group of awesome people, some of which we'll be traveling the festival circuit alongside.
First Georgia, Now Oklahoma!
August 5, 2010, 4:04PM
Just received word that TRUE NATURE have been selected to play the Oklahoma Horror Film Festival, September 3-5.
Showtimes are TBA, but keep checking their site for the latest info.
We're really happy we're playing there--they seem to be all about having TRUE NATURE, and we're honored to be part of their lineup. It proves that festival programmers respond to the film and that they feel there's an audience in their market for it.
So, if you or anyone you know is in the Tulsa area, please support this fest and come see the film!

On-screen at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival--Friday, August 13 @ 9:00 pm! Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Tell the universe!
We're starting our festival run. While it is a young fest, it seems pretty bangin', and the programmers are very enthusiastic and on their game. TRUE NATURE is programmed in a decent spot: Friday @9PM. Sweet! We're excited to be a part of this year's lineup and plan to attend--hope to see y'all there!

Cool News Coming Soonly...
May 28, 2010, 7:24PM
It's been quiet, I know, but we're in the process of working on some cool things on the festival and distribution front. The SECOND it's okay to say, we'll be screaming it from the rooftops, so stay tuned!
TRUE NATURE/FilmDayton fundraiser May 15th!
May 6, 2010, 12:17AM
TRUE NATURE will be playing as a fundraiser for FilmDayton on Saturday, May 15th. It's isn't exactly open to the paying public; rather, you must be/become a FilmDayton member or purchase a "Reel Deal" or All-access Pass to the festival.
The link to the fest is: http://www.filmdayton.com/news/2/31/
For the record: we (meaning Ann, Beth, Pat, the film or the LLC) DO NOT benefit financially from this in any way. All the proceeds go to supporting FilmDayton proper. We're just helping out.
Also, if you are unable to make this screening, we hope to be able to show TRUE NATURE in the future so that the general public can buy a regularly-priced ticket and check it out. Stay tuned to MySpace, Twitter and/or Facebook for details.
Thank you, and...
May 3, 2010, 7:10PM
Just so's you knows:
We rocked the house at last Wednesday's screening. Thanks to everyone who turned out (all 300 of you!) to support TN's launch into the world. Truly, we could not have done it without you.
Things are picking up steam, so stay tuned to this space, Twitter and Facebook for more details. One tidbit: next up is the FilmDayton fundraiser May 15th!
T-Minus...
April 27, 2010, 6:39PM
In just a few short hours, TRUE NATURE will be unveiled in an invitation-only screening a the Cinema De Lux at the Green. A large new theater and digital projection (true 2K off our DCP!) with 5.1 audio.
Ann and I did a tech screening last week and we have to say, it is a wild experience seeing a film we made projected THAT big on a 40-foot screen.
It's the perfect way to usher the film into the world, and it's gonna' be a blast.
IT'S ALIVE! AAAALLLLIIIIVVVVEEEE!
April 23, 2010, 6:39PM

We are pleased to announce that work on TRUE NATURE has been completed, and it IS a sweet, sweet ride.
